The trust has focused on three main areas quality of life, social environment and community development. Recognizing the significance of the rural area and the community, a major step was taken in the development of the rural community. Rural Development Initiative taken up by the Trust under D-RUDSETI is to provide technical assistance to the beneficiaries to develop or increase their capacity to undertake projects in the areas of housing, community facilities and economic development in rural areas. The Institute also emphasizes skill development with a vision of pushing the youth to be independent and self-reliant.

• Make the rural youth aware of alternative career to earn their livelihood.
• Identifying, motivating and training the youth for self employment.
• Counseling the women force to create substantial impact in society.
• Forming, assisting and training SHGs to bring the women force to the main stream    of society.

Deshpande RUDSETI is an NGO registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960, sponsored by CANARA BANK and
VRDM Trust.    Sri.R.V.Deshpande is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of D-RUDSETI. The management of the Institute is looked after by the Governing Council under the Presidentship of Sri Prasad Deshpande. The Institute is headed by the Director, a Senior Officer deputed from Canara Bank.

Creating avenues for Self employment developing skills of rural artisans, conducting free vocational courses, ensuring a better deal for women etc have been some of the pioneering activities that the Institute has been undertaking under the aegis of Canara Bank and VRDM Trust.
