Pygmalion Project

The adage “Pen is mightier than the sword” is quite true because education can bring revolution. Education is one of the most important drivers of India’s social and economic development. Higher level of literacy leads to greater economic output, higher employment levels, better health, better social structure and higher marks along a number of other development indicators. More specifically, the impact of educating girls and women has been shown to result in rapid improvements in family as Gandhiji rightly said, “Educate a woman, and you educate a family

The significance of educating the rural people as understood by the Trust took a new initiative for education and it introduced “Pygmalion” in rural schools with the vision of empowering the rural children to speak English so that they are not left behind when compared to the urban counterparts. In the first phase 5 schools were taken for the Pygmalion project the teachers were trained and a methodology guide is also given so that it makes their task of teaching easy. Feedback forms are also given, A co-coordinator is also appointed from the Trust to monitor the project. In the second phase we have undertaken 8 new schools.
